Vaccinations and Pet Insurance

Pet vaccination is a must for every cat in our cattery

At Blakeston Lodge, we ensure that our cats are fully vaccinated before they are accepted by us. Our experts can advise you on pet vaccination and related issues, if required. Contact us if you are in Tees Valley or anywhere in Durham.

Yearly boosters are recommended for your cat's immunity

Vaccinations, along with regular worming, grooming, exercise and a good diet are all part of maintaining your cat's health. During the early stages of life, your cat should have been vaccinated against flu, enteritis and leukemia. It is also recommended that they receive a yearly booster to maintain immunity.
Drontline flea treatment

Frontline flea treatment is also recommended

Yearly boosters may not always be possible, especially if you adopt an older cat. If this is the case, then two injections - three weeks apart - are required before your cat can stay with us. This should be taken into consideration when booking last minute holidays. It is our policy that both injections must be given prior to being accepted into our cattery.

We also strongly recommend that any cats boarding with us are treated with Frontline flea treatment at least one week before coming into the cattery.

Essential information when boarding your cats at our cattery:

The minimum vaccination required to enter the cattery is for flu and enteritis.  Your cat's vaccination must be up-to-date with your cat having had the initial course or the booster within the last 12 months
  • The up-to-date certificate must be shown on check-in
  • For your cat's protection, under no circumstances will a cat be allowed to board without this certificate
  • Please consult your veterinary surgeon if you have any further questions or require further details regarding vaccinations and Frontline flea treatments
  • All of the above must be strictly adhered to. Thank you.

Insurance Plans
As a well-established cattery of over 40 years, we ensure professionalism in all areas. All cats staying with us are fully insured - this is provided to all customers whilst we are caring for your cat and for up to two days after leaving our cattery.

In the unlikely event that your cat does become ill whilst at the cattery, we will take them to your own vet as quickly as possible.
